Stan has whakapapa links to Rongowhakaata and strong links to Te Aitanga a Mahaki and Ngati Kahungunu.
Born and raised in the Te Tairawhiti, Stan is married to Molly and they have 4 children and nine mokopuna. Stan has held several governance positions including Chairman for Rongowhakaata Trust, Deputy Chair for Te Runanga o Turanganui-a-kiwa and Chairman of Pohaturoa Station. With over 30 years farming experience, Stan is involved in several farming initiatives around Te Tairawhiti.
